| Karpathos - Greece: ISA Speed Grand Prix |
| My detour over Rhodes to reach Karpathos was half of my victory already. I arrived one day before the event – with all my gear. Not all of the other sailors were as lucky (or as well organised?). Some arrived too late, some lost their equipment on the way and few didn’t make it to Karpathos at all. |

Valerie Ghibaudo from France, my strongest opponent, also got lost on the way and arrived to days late. Lucky for me – but a bit sad for the women’s ranking… I’m just happy that I sailed good and scored some really fast runs. In one of the rounds I would have ended top 12 in the men – better than I ever competed before!

In the men Bjoern Dunkerbeck gave an impressive comeback. But was still closely followed by Finian Maynard and Patrik Diethelm. The next and last speed event of this season (in Namibia, 14-22. October) will decide the world champions in this discipline.
